I write alright.

I’ve been busy writing about some amazing women lately, while wearing my other hat as a writer for women’s magazines. Women like Jess, Daisy and Lissie here, who were in Fabulous magazine at the weekend. Jess is part of the Birthstrike movement, refusing to have children while the future of the planet remains so uncertain. Daisy is raising vegan children and has pledged not to fly, opting instead to rediscover the Great British holiday. And Lissie is sweeping the beaches of the South coast, picking up litter and campaigning for schools and businesses to reduce usage of single use plastic. Find out more about Lissie’s wonderful Final Straw Solent here.

I am really proud of the magazines I write for - they are working really hard to raise awareness of some incredible issues. Closer magazine recently covered the story of Gandhi, a cow rescued from certain death as a by-product of the dairy industry. Working with Animal Equality, this story brings animal activism and ethics to a new audience.

In My Weekly this week, I wrote about the wonderful Kate Pankhurst, who herself writes about wonderful women. Kate is a writer and illustrator whose latest book, Fantastically Great Women Who Saved The Planet, is exactly as beautiful a concept as it sounds. Hurrah for Kate shining a light on some unsung heroes (and indeed some sung heroes!) in a world which can sometimes forget how much good news there is.
