Simply Having A Wonderful Christmas Time
This will be my third vegan Christmas and each year it gets a lot easier to make such a traditionally meat-and-dairy day of feasting not only vegan friendly but also mind-blowingly delicious.
We are not a religious family and my husband and I like to take advantage of the festive season lull in our workflow to disappear, so we always celebrate Christmas a few weeks early, with each of our respective families. For the Willis Family Christmas this year, we’ll be hosting and I’m delighted that Viva! have launched a vegan Christmas recipe guide in time. Just look at these photos!
We’re talking Roast Beetroot & Cashew Crostini, Mushroom Wellington, mini tiramisu and cranberry mojitos. I will be insisting every member of my family get pissed with me on cranberry mojitos, for the vegan cause!
The guide features over 25 recipes – including a tried and tested recipe for the elusive vegan Yorkshire pudding.
The Deliciously Vegan Christmas Guide teaches how to make Creamy Mushroom Parcels, using shop-bought vegan filo pastry. There’s a choice of six scrumptious steaks, tarts and roulades, a range of heavenly desserts, such as Salted Caramel Baked Cheesecake and Cranberry ‘Boursin’ Style Cheese to impress the ‘but I could never give up cheese’ types - every family has one lurking in the corner.
Viva! is a great vegan charity and their website offers a range of red, white and rosé wine, all lovingly sourced from independent vineyards around the world – perfect for adding the finishing touch to your compassionate Christmas dinner.
The guide is available to order through the Viva! Shop and only costs £2. THAT IS RIGHT - TWO POUNDS!
All proceeds go back to the charity to help Viva! conduct important undercover investigations, monitor the latest research on health and environmental issues and host vegan outreach events.
Ten million turkeys are killed in the UK alone for Christmas each year. If you’re the only vegan in your family, I love you and I feel for you. Dazzle your relatives with amazing food and remember, you are the revolution!
